6. Changing the Fingering - the Edit Command

After importing the MIDI song into the document the Axontone™ automatically  searches for the optimal fingering sequence .   Occasionally the resulting finger positions are incorrect or do not suit individual's playing style.  MidiTabPlayer offers a convenient and fast method for changing the fingering to an alternative location. Simply position the cursor/display at a selected song location and invoke the EDIT command from the menu.

 

Edit Command

The EDIT  command is invoked from the main menu

Tip: Since clicking in the navigation strip to change position will place the cursor at the nearest measure you may need to use the STEP playback mode to reach the fingering you want to edit.

The original fingering:

 

After invoking the EDIT command. The fret board display shows all alternative positions for the notes. Red circle outlines represent the choices for the played notes while gray circles represent the "silent" notes that can be held for easier transitions into next or previous fingering.

 

Click the desired notes.

 

Click OK to complete the edit. The fret board display returns to the playback mode. The fingering has changed.

 

The navigation strip shows a pin icon in this location to indicate that the notes have been edited here.
