5. Using the Tuner

MidiTabPlayer  provides a utility to help you tune the guitar. The tuner simply plays the open string notes to provide a sound cue that allows you to match the tuning of your guitar by ear.  No acoustic waveform analysis or microphones are used in the tuning process.

 

Invoking the Tuner Command From the Menu

Tuner is invoked by a command in the main menu.

                   

As soon as the tuner is invoked the fret board display shows the first (lowest) string strumming and the sound is played through the speaker. Use this sound cue to adjust the string tuning on your guitar.

Changing the Tuner String

Press the UP/DOWN arrow keys on your keyboard to change the string.

 

Ending the Tuner Operation

Press the OK button on the fret board display to quit the tuner and restore the song display.
